Boss Raids - Big Nose

Big Nose is the second boss to be introduced into Hello Hero. Boss raids alternate, so half of the time you will be fighting Pintaurus, and the other half of the time you will be faced against Big Nose. Similar to the Pintaurus boss raid, you will have ten attempts to deal as much damage as your can and each attempt will cost three energy.

Big Nose brings an entirely different game to the table than Pintaurus. He brings a new moveset which contains evasion as well as an area of affect attack. He does not have the one-hit kill "Noogie of Disaster" spell that Pintaurus has but he has got one just as bad. In my opinion he is much harder to deal with than Pintaurus, even if you don't have spell-immune heroes for Pintaurus.
Big Nose's Attacks:
Cyclone - he increases his evasion rate to 100% for ten turns.
Hot Snort - deals 500% attack damage to a hero and stuns them for three turns.
Dragons Breath - deals 120% attack damage to all of your heroes.
Beginning of Death - removes all positive buffs from your heroes. *
* Big Nose only starts using in 2nd phase, when he is Raving Mad.

As you can see, Big Nose can be quite troublesome to deal with. While he does not have Noogie of Disaster, his Hot Snort is arguably worse. a whole 500% attack damage from him is enough to kill most heroes in one hit, or otherwise leave them at very low health. On top of that, he has Dragons Breath, an area of effect attack that will deal 120% damage to your entire party. It is therefore advisable to bring in a hero that can decrease his attack damage, as it will significantly lower his damage output.

On top of that, Big Nose's Cyclone ability will cause most of your attacks to miss, making dealing damage to him even harder. If you think you can wait for his Cyclone to wear off, think again, because it lasts for ten whole turns. Yeah, that's right, he'll probably kill your entire party long before the battle even reaches ten turns.

As if that wasn't bad enough, he also gains the ability Beginning of Death after he becomes Raving Mad, just like Pintaurus, which removes all the positive buffs of your party.

There's pretty much two ways to approach Big Nose, trying to get as much damage in quickly in a few turns before he kills all your heroes, or trying to play it longer and stay alive to deal more damage. For those in the lower levels and don't have as good tank heroes, the first option is the way to go. The second options requires specific combinations of skills in order to debuff and slow down Big Nose.

For those planning on rush damage, it is pretty simple; just bring all of your heroes that can deal the most damage. This usually means the ones with either the most attack or ones with good skills like 160%+ attack damage. And definitely bring a hero that can remove Cyclone if you have one. After that, just try to get the most damage in before your heroes are wiped out.

For those aiming for the long haul, you will need a hero that decreases Big Nose's attack. This will (1) lower his damage output overall, (2) prevent him from being able to kill your heroes in one/two hits with Hot Snort, and (3) lessen the impact of his area of effect Dragons Breath attack. Then, you will need good tank heroes that can take the brunt of the damage. This includes heroes that can buff their own defense and have skills like Provoke, which will keep the damage off your dealers and support. Finally, you would need a good healer to heal the damage that is taken on your tanks. While Big Nose deals damage to all your heroes with his Dragon's Breath, a single-target healer may be better if they can heal more to your tanks who are taking the most damage.

Heroes that can decrease his attack include:
Lady June (3★), Lady Arom (4★), Talisa (4★), Nikita (5★) or Avril (6★).
Heroes that can remove his evasion buff include:
Lady June (3★), Lady Arom (4★), Apophis (4★), and Space Flying Apophis (6★).
As you can see, having a Lady June or a Lady Arom would be very beneficial in this boss raid. The trick however, is keeping them alive.

Saving any extra energy and doing a Time Attack or two before going in is also a good idea. Typically for Big Nose, any Attack, Critical Chance, Health, or Defense buff would be a good choice as it would allow you to do more damage or stay alive longer to deal more damage.

One last thing to note, debuffing Big Nose is preferable than buffing your own heroes. This is because later on he gains the Beginning of Death ability, which will remove your positive buffs. However, he does not ever have the ability to remove his own negative buffs.

If you have a good composition of heroes or just have heroes that can deal a lot of damage quick, you may do fairly well in this boss raid. Otherwise, it may be worth spending some energy and participating in to get a few extra carats, you've got (mostly) nothing to lose!

Good luck!
