Dungeon Guide and Tips

The dungeon is a set of battles that have preset enemies for each battle. As of the time of writing, the dungeon currently has 80 levels. Each attempt at the dungeon will cost three energy and when your heroes fall in the arena they do not need to be revived. You are rewarded gold, carats, heroes, or equipment upon beating a level. The enemies on each level is the same for everyone, but some of the rewards may be different as they are randomized. For a list of all dungeon rewards up to dungeon level 80, please take a look at the Dungeon Rewards page.

Generally people find themselves breezing through the early levels of the arena fairly easily, before getting stuck. And then they find a way past their stuck level and continue on before getting stuck again. The dungeon constantly gets harder the higher the level, and the strength of your heroes grows much slower. You WILL get stuck on a dungeon level eventually and not have enough firepower to beat it. That is inevitable. There is no way for me to write up a detailed guide on how to beat each and every level of the dungeon with your party, because everyone's party is different. However, there ways that you can get unstuck from particular situations in levels, and I will try to go over each strategy in detail:

Upgrade all of your heroes! If you are stuck on a level, upgrade your strongest heroes until they are +5. Upgrading is the simplest way to increase your party's power. Check out Tips on Upgrading and Fusion for more details on upgrading your heroes.

Assuming that all of your heroes are fully upgraded, the first thing I recommend for anyone who is stuck on a level is to try and do a Time Attack beforehand. Getting a good buff from Time Attack is the easiest way to boost the effectiveness of your party. Seven out of the possible ten buffs are battle-related buffs: Attack, Defense, Dexterity, Focus, Counter Attack, Critical Chance, and Health. I usually prefer to just get a good damage boost like an Attack buff or a Critical Chance buff, but you may want a different one depending on your circumstances. For example, if your heroes are taking a lot of damage, you may want to try and get a Defense or a Health buff to increase your survivability.

Ninja Keiasu's Ninja Vanish skill increases his critical
chance as prevents enemies from attacking him.
If you still can not beat a level, try checking your party and it's equipment. Take a look at Equipment Attributes for a detailed explanation of each item attribute and make sure you equip items that are suitable and match the heroes' strengths and weaknesses. For example, you want your physical damage dealers to have more attack and dexterity, so they can attack more often. However, if you have a damage dealer that has a buff skill with a duration, such as Ninja Keiasu, you may want LESS dexterity on him, so he can stay stealthed longer. Because duration time is dependent on the number of turns the hero physically attacks, this allows him to stay protected while his skill cooldown recharges. The same rule applies for tanks with a skill such as provoke; you will want lower dexterity so Provoke lasts longer, and higher defense, so that hero can absorb most of the damage. If you are bringing in AOE damage dealers, then you want them to have as much attack and critical chance as possible.

For the earlier levels when the enemy does not have immunity, heroes that have stun and frozen skills are very effective! Stunning or freezing an enemy will put it out of commission for a good number of turns, decreasing the damage that they can deal to you. This, in turn, will allow you to get more hits in and deal more damage. Therefore, if you have the choice between bringing in a strong hero with attack skills or a mediocre hero will stunning or freezing, you should choose the latter hero unless the other hero is MUCH stronger.

In later levels when the enemy team is immune to stunning and freezing, heroes with those skills become less effective. Therefore, you should not bring those heroes, they served you well in the earlier dungeon levels, but their freeze and stun skills are useless now. Instead, you want to bring heroes that have area of effect debuffs on the enemy team or area of effect buffs for your party. You will want heroes such as the Marines, that deals AOE damage and can blind the enemy team, or the Veterans, that deal AOE damage and decrease enemy defense.

In the end, however, the ultimate upgrade is just better heroes. If you get stuck in on a level and can not beat it no matter what, you will just have to wait until you have stronger heroes and a stronger party before you try it again. You will not be able to beat dungeon level 80 with a party of 2★ heroes, no matter how many times you try. Eventually, you will fuse your weaker heroes and they will become stronger, and one day you will have a party strong enough to beat the level you were stuck on. Check out the Tips of Upgrading and Fusion page for more details on powering up your heroes.

I hope this was useful for anyone stuck on a dungeon level. If you are still stuck, have patience! You will eventually be able to beat that dungeon level! Leave comments down below if you have any other tips for beating dungeons or need help with a particular level.
